“Dangal wins Best Asian Film at AACTA. Congratulations Team Dangal. With Russel Crowe chairman of the jury. It was a unanimous decision,” wrote Azmi in Twitter.

‘Dangal’, a biographical sports drama film, is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

It is inspired by the lives of the Phogat family members, telling the story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta and Babita to become India’s first international award winning female wrestlers.

Aamir Khan essayed the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, while Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play the adult versions of the two Phogat sisters.
