Chilika: A lightning strike killed a fisherman while he was returning back from Chilika after fishing on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Behera (58), a resident of Nairi village under Nachuni police limits of Khordha district.
Report says, Narayan was returning back home from Chilika when the lightning struck on him due to Kalbaisakhi near Nairi fish godown. His fellow colleagues immediately rushed him to Tangi Community Health Centre (CHC), where the doctors declared him dead.
A pall of gloom descended on the Nairi village as the news of the death of the fisherman trickled in.
