Bhadrak: At least nine houses have been gutted in a massive fire which broke out in Kankara village under Dhamanagar NAC in Bhadrak district on Sunday.
As per the report, sparks erupted in at a resident’s house early this morning and spread very fast to engulf the houses located nearby.
Till the victim family woke up from sleep and launched firefighting efforts the blaze had burnt down valuable assets including furniture, electronic goods, paddy crops and other items completely into ashes.
Fire services personnel form Dhamnagar rushed to the spot and doused the flames later in the morning.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained an electric short circuit is suspected behind it.
