9 Gujarat pilgrims hurt as minibus hits truck in Balasore

Balasore: At least nine passengers sustained injuries, three among them critically, after a minibus carrying pilgrims hit a stationary truck at Talanagar on National Highway-16 under Soro Police Station in Balasore last night.

The minibus, a Force Traveller, was carrying pilgrims from Aravalli of Gujarat to Puri when the mishap took place late in the night. It is suspected that the driver of the vehicle failed to spot a stationary truck parked on the highway and smacked into it from the rear.

As the minibus got completely mangled from the front under the impact of the collision at least nine passengers boarding it sustained injuries.

Soro Police rushed to the spot immediately and sent the injured to Soro hospital and shifted three out of them to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for better treatment.

The mangled minibus has been seized by police of late and a case have been lodged.
