8th class student abducted, gang-raped in Nabrangpur

Nabrangpur: In a shocking incident,a minor school-going girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by two youths in Turunjia guda village under Maidalpur police limits of Nabrangpur district.

Sources say, 13-year old girl was on her way to the field to attend nature’s call, when two youths Santosh Takri and Umesh Harijan from Semla village came in a car and abducted the minor girl and abducted her to Sunabeda village of Koraput district, kept her as hostage for three days and raped her.

Later, they left the girl and fled from the spot. On hearing the news, the family members reached the spot, rescued the minor girl. The mother of the girl has reported at the Maidalpur police station.

According to the complaint, the minor was threatened to be killed and was sexually assaulted. The minor and  her family members have demanded to take strict action against the accused.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, the accused Santosh and his friend Umesh has been absconding after the incident.

Both the accused will be arrested soon and the exact reason will be known, informed Maidalpur police in charge Anamu Dian.

On October 16, in a horrifying incident, an 55-year old woman was gang-raped by two youths near Sukruli under Raruan police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
