82 children among 524 Covid cases in Odisha, 2 new fatalities

Bhubaneswar: A total of 524 Covid-19 positive cases including 82 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,37,056, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Thursday.

Among the 524 positives, there are 308 quarantine cases and 216 local contact cases. The new recovery cases stands at 451, taking the total number of 10,23,849. Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,856.

Besides, the state pool has 61 new Covid positive cases.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,294 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 80 years old Female of Bhubaneswar.

2. A 72 years old Male of Sundargarh District.

On the other hand, Odisha has reached new milestone of three and half crore vaccinations. As of now, 3,46,41,491 doses have been inoculated in the State including 1,44,79,396 first dose and 1,01,62,115 with second dose. In the Covid vaccination list, Ganjam secured the first place followed by Khordha and Cuttack.
