Bhadrak: At least 8 rooms were reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out at Parihat Padhi Sahi under Parihat police limits in Bhadrak district yesterday late last night.
Though no casualty or injuries was reported in the accident, property worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes.
Sources said a fire engulfed at one house of Prafulla Padhi and later engulfed 5 other adjoining houses.
On being informed, Gadi fire tenders reached the spot to douse the flames. By the time the fire tenders reached around 8 rooms were completely gutted and property worth lakhs were destroyed in the incident.
Though the exact cause behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, short circuit is suspected to have led to the incident.
