Cuttack: At least eight passengers sustained injuries and three among them turned critical later as a bus carrying them hit a roadside tree near Hata Chhak of Baramba in Cuttack district.
As per the report, the bus namely ‘Mahalaxmi’ bearing registration number OR 05 AB 8950 was en-route to Cuttack from Bhattarika when the mishap took place.
After the driver of the bus lost control over the wheel it skidded off the road and hit a tree located near the Hero showroom. The impact of the collision was so high that the bus got badly mangled from the spot.
Baramba police reached the spot immediately and rushed all eight passengers who sustained injuries in the crash to Baramba Hospital for treatment.
While police have seized mangled bus, its driver is absconding since the occurrence of the incident.
