7th Pay Commission: These Government Employees Will Get Three Months Dearness Allowance and Bonus

The Gujarat government on Friday handed over the Diwali bonus and dearness allowance (DA) to state government employees together. Arrears of dearness allowance for the last three months will be paid to the employees. With this, it has been decided to give bonus to class-4 employees.

Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel informed about this decision in Gandhinagar. He said that all government employees will be paid three months DA. With this, it has been decided to give bonus to class-4 employees. These employees will be transferred this money to the account before Diwali.

Around 9 lakh, 61 thousand employees-pensioners will get the benefit of DA payment and this will cost Rs 464 crore from the government treasury.

He said that the employees were to be paid DA arrears for the last 6 months, but the situation arising out of the Corona crisis has affected the exchequer. However, the situation has become a bit normal, due to which 50 percent of the arrears are being released. This decision has been taken after consultation with Chief Minister Rupani so that the employees can also celebrate Diwali with the family.

Regarding the bonus, the Deputy Chief Minister said that ’employees will be given a bonus of Rs 3500. This bonus will be given to class-4 employees. A total of 30,960 employees will get direct benefits.’
