Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has decided to clear arrears pending on account of retrospective implementation of 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations from January 1, 2016.

“Around 3.5 lakh employees and 2 lakh pensioners of the state government will receive 40% of the salary arrears as per 7th pay commission during 2017-18 and 2018-19 financial years. Government will soon take a decision on the remaining 60% arrear,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Patnaik had on March 1 this year ordered for a revision of salary for employees of State PSUs as per recommendations of the pay panel.

This apart, the CM had also announced a hike in remuneration of contractual employees by about 25 per cent.
