Bhubaneswar: Employees of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in Odisha will get their revised salary as per recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission with effect retrospectively from January 1, 2016.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday directed the concerned officials for the revision of their salary as per recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Patnaik had announced on August 29, 2017 to implement the recommendation of the pay panel retrospectively from January 1, 2016. Later, the State Cabinet had approved a proposal to implement the recommendations in September 2017.

This would benefit over eight lakh state government employees and pensioners. The dearness allowance will be included with emoluments for calculation of Death cum Retirement Gratuity (DCRG). Earlier, the gratuity was calculated on the basic pay only.

The contractual job holders employed under the state government will also get the benefit as the government has decided to enhance their remuneration by about 25 per cent.
