7th Pay Commission: Modi Government Gave This Important Information About The Pensioners; Know More

The central government has given important information on the pension of 20.6 lakh ex-servicemen on Friday. Under the One Rank One Pension (OROP), Rs 42,700 crore has been released to ex-servicemen in the last five years. The Ministry of Defense shared this information on Friday.

On the pension amount, the Ministry has informed that the annual expenditure on pension under OROP is about Rs 7123.38 crore and is for 6 years (Rs 42,700 crore) starting July 1, 2014. Accordingly, from July 1, 2014, a total recurring expenditure of about Rs 42,740.28 crore has been fixed. Pension benefits have been given to ex-servicemen / family pensioners under the 7th Pay Commission. ‘

PM Modi has also shared information by tweeting on this decision. According to the tweet, the demand for OROP, which has been pending for almost four decades, has been met. The historic decision to implement it was taken on 7 November 2015. Retired Armed Forces personnel as of 30 June 2014 are covered.

In fact, the government has issued proposals to drastically change the conditions of pension and retirement of soldiers. Controversy has arisen over this. Constant questions are being raised by the opposition.

The government has said in the proposal to increase the retirement age of military officers and cut the pension of those who took retirement earlier. Currently, military officers get full pension when they retire after 20 years. But after the proposal becomes law, a new system will be implemented for it.
