Before Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government has given a huge bonus of 15 lakh government employees. Bonuses will be given to Grade C and Grade D employees. The decision taken by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday will benefit about 15 lakh employees, including government employees, teachers of aided colleges, teachers of technical education institutions, employees of local bodies and daily working employees.

The order states that the bonus will be equal to 30 days’ salary and not more than Rs 7,000. An employee will be entitled to a maximum bonus of Rs 6,908. Of this, 75% will be credited to the employees’ provident fund account, while the remaining 25% will be handed over in cash.

At the same time, employees who do not have a PF account, will be given a bonus in the form of National Saving Certificate. An official has said that 14,82,187 employees will be benefited from this and the government will bear an additional expenditure of Rs 1,022.75 crore on it. The order also states that employees who retired on March 31, 2020 or on April 30, 2021, will get the entire bonus in cash.

Let us know that in the past, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna had given clear indication of giving Diwali bonus on time. He had said that due to Corona crisis and the situation arising out of lockdown, the state is reaching a better condition, in which case Bonsa will be released on time.
