7 women players from Odisha selected for National Women hockey camp

New Delhi: As many as seven players from Odisha have been selected by the Hockey India among the 48 players for the Senior Women’s National Camp on Saturday.

Deep Grace Ekka, Sunita Lakra, Rashmita Minz, Lilima Minz, Namita Toppo, Anupa Barla and Birajini Ekka are the seven players who selected to take part in the National Woman hockey camp which is slated to commence on May 28 at the Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru.

The team will make use of this short preparatory camp that concludes on June 9 to assess their performance and work on the short comings ahead of the Spain Tour that begins on June 10.

In the men’s group too, six Odia players – Birendra Lakra, Amit Rohidas, Dipsan Tirkey, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Anand Lakra and Amon Mirash Tirkey – have been included in the 48 players for a 21-day national camp ahead of the FIH (Fédération Internationale de Hockey) men’s Champions Trophy in Breda, the Netherlands.
