Koraput: At least 22 labourers sustained injuries, 7 of them critically, as a tractor carrying them overturned near Lakhimpur in Koraput district last night.
The mishap took place while the labourers were returning Rayagada after work from Kodingamali bauxite mines and the driver lost control over the wheels. The tractor suffered an accident subsequently leaving the labourers.
All the injured identified as residents of Talajhari village of Kashipur block in Rayagada district were immediately rushed to Lakhimpur Hospital and then shifted to Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for better treatment.
Police have seized the mangled tractor to start an investigation into the crash.
