7 crooks of cyber fraud gang arrested in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police today arrested 7 member gang of cyber fraud at Bhubaneswar. Over 17,000 sim cards & 150 mobiles were seized from their possession.

The cyber gang looteras use to operate their office from Cuttack and were allegedly supplying SIM cards to criminal gangs., informs Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi.

Acting on a tip-off, the Commissionerate police busted a cyber-gang and during the search 150 mobiles, over 17,000 sim cards. They use to arrange pre-activated cards and give the customers without documents and large of sim cards were sent to other states. They used credentials of other persons to activate the SIM cards.

The police have arrested seven persons in this connection. Of which two people were working in the telecom company and five people were selling sim cards.

We busted the gang while investigating into a case registered by the Sahid Nagar police. We found many sim card registered in one identity and we started our investigation. We found pre-activated sims in Bhadrak area and then conducted raids at various places and arrested seven persons in this connection, informed Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi.
