Berhampur: In a sad incident as many as 7 persons sustained critical injury as firecrackers exploded inside a house in Ganjam district of Odisha on Wednesday.
As per reports, firecrackers had been kept to be used for a marriage function in the house of Dandapani Behera in Beruabadi Sihal Sahi under Kodala Police Station. Locals heard noise of an explosion and as they rushed to the spot hearing the intense sound of the blast came to know about the explosion.
Reportedly, the injured sustained serious burns and were rushed to Kodala hospital by the locals. However, later 5 of them were shifted to the Berhampur-based MKCG Medical College and Hospital as their condition deteriorated further.
As stated by the family, the firecrackers that exploded had been brought for a wedding to be held on 26th of June.
