7 armed miscreants loot gold jewellery, cash at gunpoint in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Seven armed miscreants looted gold jewellery worth huge lakhs of rupees and huge amount of cash from house of cloth shop owner in Rajgangpur of Sundargarh district on Wednesday night. The owner of cloth shop has been identified as Kamal Agarwal. He has his shop, Srivastram, at Rajgangpur.

Reportedly, the miscreants broke into Kamal’s house from the backdoor at 3.40 am last night. They went to Kamal’s bedroom and tied him along with his wife to the bed.

Thereafter, the armed miscreants took the key of locker at gunpoint and looted all the gold ornaments and five lakh rupees cash. Soon after looting all the jewelry and cash they fled from Kamal’s house.

The couple managed to rescue each other by opening the knot and immediately informed to the local police. The cost of looted gold jewellery has been estimated to be worth more than Rs 20 lakhs.

On getting the information, the local police arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the matter based on the available CCTV footage.
