6-year-old girl allegedly sexually assaulted by teenager in Odisha

Mayurbhanj: In a shameful incident, a six-year-old girl has been allegedly sexually assaulted by a 16-year-old boy in the Mayurbhanj district on Friday.

Reportedly, the teenage boy took advantage of the absence of the minor’s family members at home and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

It has been learnt that the 16-year-old took the minor to another outside her home following which the shameful act allegedly took place.

Later, the minor’s parents returned home and heard about the alleged sexual assault. The minor’s parents filed a complaint with Karanjia police station following which the alleged accused has been arrested.

The accused teenager will be forwarded to court today, informed Karanjia police officials.

In a similar incident that took place in the Keonjhar district, an elderly man allegedly raped and attempted to murder a minor girl in ward number 15 under Barbil police limits. A 10-year-old minor girl was tied by her hand and legs following which the accused elderly man allegedly raped her.

The accused attempted to kill her by smashing her with a huge piece of stone over the fear of getting exposed. As the minor girl fainted on the spot, the accused man left her behind naked and escaped.
