Bhubaneswar: The city-based Meteorological Department on Saturday issues thunderstorm alert for six districts of the state including Koraput.
The other five districts which have been alerted are Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal and Angul.
The weatherman has issued the thunderstorm alert till 8 PM today.
People of these districts have been advised to take shelter in safe places and avoid going out as hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 50 to 60 kmph will occur along with the thunderstorm.
