6 more State Govt officers including 1 Chief Engineer & 2 Executive Enggs given compulsory retirement

Bhubaneswar: Tightening the noose around neck of government officials Odisha Government on Wednesday issued order for retirement of 6 Govt officials including a Chief Engineer, two Executive Engineers and two Block Education Officers. So far Naveen Patnaik government has given compulsory retirement to 164 government officials.

Out of the six government officials who were given compulsory retirement today, a DA case is pending against Sunil Kumar Panda, the Electrical chief engineer in Sambalpur. He had been suspended earlier after Rs. 3.26 crore of disproportionate property was found from his possession. Hence, he has been given compulsory retirement on grounds of corruption.

Also, Jagannath Sethy, the Executive Engineer of Berhampur Rural Works Electrical Division is facing a corruption charge. He had been suspended earlier after Rs. 7.63 DA property was found from his possession. Accordingly, he has been served with compulsory retirement order.

Similarly, Deepak Kumar Bhuyan, the Executive Engineer (Testing and Calibration) cum Dy Electrical Inspector facing corruption charges in two cases. He has been given compulsory retirement today.

Bhubaneswar based Executive Engineer (ED and Inspection) cum Dy Elect Inspector Prashanta Kumar Mishra is facing corruption charges in one case.

In the School and Mass Education Department of Rayagada, Antarjyami Behera, the BEO of Gunpur has a DA case pending. He had accepted bribe of Rs 10,000 for which later he had been arrested on March 2 and forwarded to Court the following day. He has been given compulsory retirement today.

Also, Braja Kumar Nayak, the BEO in Nuagarh Block in Gajapati district is facing corruption charge in one matter. He had been caught by the Vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe of Rs 30 thousand at his office. He has been given compulsory retirement.

He has always insisted on zero-tolerance against incompetent and corrupt officials. He has continuously given efforts to provide services to the people through a transparent, efficient, and accountable administration.
