Nayagarh: At least six rooms were gutted and property worth lakhs lost in a massive fire which broke out in Dhipasahi village under Bhogabadi panchayat in Nayagarh district today.
The fire erupted at a residence house in the wee hours while everybody was asleep in the village and later spread to the neighborhood rapidly.
Till the locals woke up and launched firefighting efforts, the blaze had spread to as many as six houses. Later fire brigade was called up for help but till it reached and contained the flames, assets including furniture, electronic goods, vehicles along with vital documents had been completely reduced to ashes.
While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an electric short circuit is being suspected behind the incident.
