6 girls, 3 minors rescued during human trafficking in Odisha’s Rourkela: Watch

Rourkela: Tightening the noose around the neck of human trafficking illegal traders Police on Thursday rescued at least 6 girls and 3 minor girls in Rourkela of Odisha. Two agents have been detained in this connection.

As per reports, 6 young girls and 3 minor girls were rescued by the Police personnel of Rourkela New Bus stand Police Out Post. They were being trafficked to Vijaywada of Andhra Pradesh. The dalals reportedly lured them to provide well paid job in the prawn factory of Vijayawada.

Acting on a tip off Police conducted a raid in the Bus stand area and rescued the girls. Police also caught two dalals involved in the said trafficking. They have been detained for questioning.

The girls have been lodged in the Disha Centre of the Childline.

Further investigation of the case is underway.
