5 places in Odisha boils over 41 degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: As many as five places of Odisha witnessed 41-degree Celsius temperature or above, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre today.

Titilagarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh and Jharsuguda are the five places where the day temperature touched/ crossed the 41-degree Celsius mark today.

As per the weather department, Titlagarh sizzled at 42.8 degrees Celsius while Balangir at 42.5 degrees Celsius. Likewise, Sonepur at 41.6 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda at 41.2 degrees Celsius and Boudh at 41 degrees Celsius.

The State Capital City, Bhubaneswar reported 34.8 degree Celsius and Cuttack city recorded 38.1 degree Celsius.

Notably, the heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, and Angul districts of the state.

The warning has been issued till 8.30 am on March 31 for Mayurbhanj, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, and Boudh. Similarly, the warning has been issued from 8.30 am on March 31 to 8.30 am on April 2 for Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sambalpur, and Angul.

Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted light to moderate rainfall and thundershower over one or two places in five districts including Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak from 8.30 am on April 3 to 8.30 am on April 4.
