5 more patients succumb to Covid in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as five more Covid patients have succumbed to the deadly disease in Odisha, informed the Health and Family Welfare department on Monday.

The death toll in the State rises to 8,525 following the report of patients succumbed to the virus.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 57 years old Female of Balasore District.

2.A 45 years old Female of Bhubaneswar.

3.A 13 years old Girl of Cuttack District.

4.A 78 years old Female of Keonjhar District who was also suffering from Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

5.A 35 years old Female of Sundargarh District.

The Health Department has also mentioned that the list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

It is to be noted that earlier on Sunday Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra had said that Odisha is experiencing a decline in Covid infection rates since January 12. He further added that the next few days shall be the crucial period to know the peak of the infection.
