5 Member Diesel Theft Gang Held In Angul Of Odisha

Talcher: A special squad of Angul district police conducted a sudden raid in Kumunda village and arrested five members of a diesel theft gang, which was pilfering diesel from trucks and other vehicles engaged in coal mines and transport agencies.

The team also recovered huge quantity of diesel, two Boleros, two motorbikes and a scooter from their possession.

According to sources, the five robbers used to target trucks parked in coal mines and other vehicles parked outside transport agencies at night. They would take out the diesel and sell it for cheaper prices.

A probe was initiated after police received several complaints about the gang involved in the theft of diesel. A special squad was formed which laid a trap and caught them red-handed when the five were trying to steal diesel.

The five were handed over to Kanihan police while a further probe was on.
