Angul: In an unfortunate incident, as many as five people have been killed in a road accident in Angul late on Monday night. The road accident took place on NH-149 near Kantiapasi square under Khamar police limits.
All the deceased have been identified as Injidi village, Dilip Kumar Sahu (29), Bapun Kumar Sahu (21), Ranu Pradhan (21), Gaur Chandra Sahu (20), Pinu Sahu (20).
Reportedly, the car was en route to Injidi in Angul from Talcher late last night when the vehicle rammed into a stationary truck on NH-149.
As a result, the parts of the car have been completely shattered into pieces and five travelers lost their lives.
The locals informed the police after witnessing the tragic accident. On getting the information, Khamar police arrived at the spot and recovered the people.
It has been learnt that while three people took their last breath on the spot, two others lost their lives during treatment at the hospital. The cops have initiated a probe into the matter and the bodies have been sent for autopsy procedure.
