Rayagada: At least five party men sustained injuries after a group of locals attacked the BJD office in Rayagada town on Saturday and vandalized it.
A group of locals with sticks and other weapons barged into the party office located near Rayagada MP N. Bhaskar Rao’s residence in the town this morning. After initial verbal abuse with the workers present there, they started attacking them. The miscreants damaged the furniture kept at the office and threw away party flags put up there before fleeing the spot.
The injured workers were rushed to the Rayagada DHH following the attack by police which reached the spot immediately.
While no arrests have been made in the incident police suspect it to be fallout of past enmity.
