Rayagada: As many as 49 students of a private engineering college in Rayagada district of Odisha have tested positive for Covid.
Following the detection of these high numbers of positives, the Rayagada district administration has declared the college and its hostels as micro containment zones and sealed the premises.
All the infected students have been kept in isolation at the hostel and necessary medical assistance is being provided by the district administration, said sources.
On the other hand, the college is being sanitized and contract tracing is being done, added the college administration.
It is noteworthy that as many as 4829 Covid-19 positive cases including 933 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.
Among the 4829 Covid positives, Rayagada alone accounted for as many as 82 Covid positives in the last 24 hours.
