Phulbani: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders, police seized a car and seized huge cache of ganja from the same by conducting a raid in Katari Sahi under Baliguda police limits in Kandhmal district on Saturday.
Acting upon a tip-off on a ganja-laden Maruti Suzuki car bearing registration number-WB 06 A 8623, a police team from Baliguda intercepted it late in the night and conducted a search.
After the driver of the car escaped from the spot, the cops found around two sacks of ganja weighing over Rs 45 kg and seized those along with the car.
Police have begun an investigation into the case and launched a manhunt to trace the absconding driver.
