44 Odisha Police Personnel to receive Medal on Republic Day

Cuttack: A total of 44 police personnel of Odisha Police will receive medals in different categories on the occasion of the Republic Day this year, according to a press note released from the Odisha Police State Headquarters here on Thursday.

Governor SC Jamir will give the police officials with medals in a special function in Bhubaneswar on January 26 in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Rabindra Kumar Mohapatra, Addl SP, Special Branch, Bhubaneswar, will receive President’s Police Medal for distinguished service on this occasion, while Inspector Seema Rekha Panda, Havildars Bimal Kumar Tarang and Arun Kumar Panda of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) will get the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in Police training.

15 police personnel including 3 senior IPS officers will get Governor’s Medal for the year 2017. The IPS officers are Yatindra Koyal, Satyabrata Bhoi, and Sanjeev Arora.

Police Medals for Gallantry will be awarded to 17 personnel while Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 8 personnel.
