Rourkela: In a success to Rourkela Police it recovered at least 41 motor pumps stolen from a defunct factory premise in Lathikata area here today and took two persons into custody.
The held persons have been identified as Mohammed Miraz Khan of Lathikata and Prabhakar Bisoyi of Deogaon areas.
A joint team of Raghunathpalli and Jalda police carried out a raid in Deogaon area following a tip-off on the motor pump theft from ORIND factory premise and seized those from a secluded place. It is being suspected that taking advantage of the lack of security arrangement at the factory the accused duo were stealing the pumps to later sell to prospective customers.
Interrogation of the held accused duo is underway to examine whether more people are involved in the case or not, said Panposh SDPO Asim Kumar Panda.
