Cuttack: In a crackdown against drug smuggling, the Central Excise department today seized brown sugar worth 40 gms at Trisulia Chhak in Cuttack and arrested one person in this connection.
The arrested person has been identified as Ramchandra Patra.
Acting on tip-off, a team of excise officials intercepted him at Trisulia Chhak. He was carrying the contraband from Patia and was enroute to Cuttack.
During the search the officials seized 40 gms of brown sugar. Following which Patra was arrested.
