40 Crore Worth Ganja Plants Burnt Down In Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: Ganja cultivation amounting to around  40 crore has been destroyed by a joint operation of the Nandapur Police and Excise department today.

On getting a tip-off the joint team raided various fields and destroyed huge amount of ganja plants spread across various areas.

It is noteworthy that the officials uprooted the plants and set them on fire.

A case has been registered against the cultivators, two of them have been detained. A probe has been launched.

There has been a marked increase in illegal ganja trade during and after the Covid lockdown said sources.

    When permitted liquor sell through govt licensee outlets to fork revenue in billions it’s astounding that this cannabis worth ₹40 crores put to destroy!Every year such destroyal of ganja in state amounting to huge crores could have benefiting the govt, so instead of destroying measurable steps like license liquor needs to be workupon as these will ensure great revenue!
