Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, body of a four-year-old girl has been recovered from a latrine tank under mysterious conditions in Botiguda village here today.
The deceased has been identified as the daughter of one Laxmi Chandra Jani of the same village.
As per the report, the victim went missing while playing near his house at around 8 pm last night. After conducting a frantic search in and around the village her family members lodged a missing case with local police and informed the Childline officials at the same time.
Some locals spotted the girl’s body floating in an under construction septic latrine tank near her house this morning.
While police have reached the spot and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy, locals have blamed the inordinate delay in the construction of latrine tank for the incident. They have demanded for immediate completion of the latrine construction work to avoid more such incidents in future.
