Jharsuguda: In a tragic incident, a 4-year-old boy was crushed to death after slipping into a paddy threshing machine in Barangamala village under Banharpali police limits in the district today.
The deceased has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Bhoi, son of Krushna Chandra Bhoi of the same village.
As per the father of the victim, he was busy in threshing paddy in a crop field near his house when the mishap took place. The 4-year-old was playing nearby and was continuously nearing the machine for which his father had warned him continuously. However, all went futile as the child finally fell into the machine unknowingly and got badly crushed.
The child was immediately rushed to TRL Hospital for treatment by his father and was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Police have reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
