4 injured in wild elephant attack in Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: In yet another case of human-animal conflict in the State, at least four persons sustained injuries after being attacked by a jumbo in Ghansa village in Bargarh district.

As per the report, a group of men including an elderly person had been to attend nature’s call to a field on the outskirts of the village and later getting freshen up at a pond when the pachyderm attack took place.

A wild elephant which had sneaked into the area in search of food last night pounced on the victims and lifted a couple of them to slam to the ground.

The jumbo escaped into the forest after some locals reached out to the victims hearing their screams.

The injured persons have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Forest officials have rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
