Balasore: In a tragic incident, a patient along with three others sustained injuries after an ambulance in which he was beings shifted to hospital hit a stationary truck from rear on NH-16 near Uttareshwar Bazar in Soro of Balasore district today.
The mishap took place while the ambulance was en-route to East Midnapur area carrying the patient from private hospital in Bhubaneswar in the morning. Driver of the ambulance failed to spot the truck which had been laden with stones and ended up ramming into that.
All the victims were rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) following the mishap where they are under treatment.
Police has reached the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy and seizing the mangled ambulance.
