Choudwar: In a success to Choudwar Police it arrested at least four persons including the main accused involved in looting a trader of over Rs 10 lakh near Chaulia bridge in the area a few days back.
The held accused have been identified as the mastermind Ramesh Chandra Mohantay of Nuagaon area of Khurdha, Ramakant Mallick of Biridi, Santosh Sahu and Ramnirman Das of Dharina.
Police seized, Rs 2.15 lakh looted cash, 4 mobile phones, 2 motorcycles from the possession of the held accused, said Choudwar Police Station IIC Padmanabh Pradhan while informing the media on the arrests.
Others involved in the loot would be nabbed soon, he added.
Around 8-10 miscreants including the held accused intercepted the victim trader namely, Manas Das of Jajpur’s Barundia near Chaulia bridge on the day of the incident and snatched away his cash bag containing Rs 10.45 lakh, ATM card and cheque book.
