Cuttack: The Odisha police has arrested four employees of the money lending company, Muthut Finance, on fraud charges at Chandi Chhak in Cuttack district of Odisha.
The four held accused have been identified as Nimain Charan Sahoo of Sankhachilla in Jajpur, Amrit Bose of Mehendipur in Cuttack, Manas Ranjan Singh of Chandini chowk in Cuttack and Sangram Prusti of Thoriasahi in Cuttack.
According to reports, the complainant Kalyani Mohapatra of Sheikh Bazaar area reported in writing at the Cantonment Police Station that she had kept her gold ornaments in Muthoot Finance on May 7 2018 and had taken loan amount of Rs 66,000. On December 15 2020 she went to the branch and asked to verify the status of the loan, they informed that it has been auctioned.
Kalyani went to the company to approach about the same, they informed that she herself had collected the ornaments by giving an affidavit whereas neither she had submitted any affidavit nor she had taken her ornaments.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested four employees of the company and the forged documents have also been seized.
