Cuttack: At least four persons turned critical and several others sustained injuries after a bus carrying them hit an electric pole near Dhobani nullah under Baramba area here today morning.
As per the report, the bus namely Maa Mangala bearing Registration Number-OR 05 AB 6341 was en-route to Bhubaneswar from Narasinghpur when the mishap took place. Near Dhobani nullah driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels probably due to dense fog and ended up hitting a roadside poll.
While a number of people were hurt in the accident, four of them turned critical on the spot.
Baramba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra reached the spot immediately and made arrangements to send the injured persons to Maniabandh hospital. Four critically injured passengers were later shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack for treatment.
Police have seized the bus and started an investigation into the accident.
