Subarnapur: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders, police arrested at least three persons and seized 4 cartons of cough syrup along with huge cache of banned drugs from their possession by conducting a raid in Malipada and Chamarpada areas of Subarnapur town on Monday.
The held bootleggers have been identified as Dhruba Mahala, Narasingh Budek and Kahnei.
Acting on a tip-off a police team under ASI Subrat Panigrahi carried out the raid in the morning and stormed the illegal drug manufacturing-cum-storage units.
During the raid the cops seized around 25 litres of spurious drugs, 12 strips of sedative tablets along with the cough syrup packets and seized those.
A case has been lodged in connection with the raid at Subarnapur Police Station and the accused have been forwarded to court, said police.
