Cuttack: The 3rd cadaver kidney transplant has carried out in SCB Hospital of Odisha. The kidney of a woman, Rajalaxmi Das of Delang has been donated.
Rajalaxmi met with a road accident on the 1st of March and was critically injured. She was admitted in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
On Wednesday morning, she was declared brain dead by the doctors. Her family decided to donate her kidneys.
The kidneys were transplanted to a woman of Mayurbhanj, Ritarani Mohanty who was being treated in SCB hospital Cuttack.
This is the 3rd such transplant in Odisha. The team of doctors was headed by Dr. Chittaranjan Kar and K.P. Mishra.
