39 Odisha police to get President’s Medal on this Republic Day; Here is the list

Bhubaneswar: As many as 39 police personnel from Odisha will be awarded police medals by the President Ram Nath Kovind on this Republic Day.

Out of 39 cops, 26 police personnel will be conferred the Police Medal for Gallantry, two will receive President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 11 will be awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service tomorrow.

As per a press release, a total of 855 Police personnel will be awarded Medals at four different categories on the occasion of the Republic Day. While President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) have been awarded to three personnel, Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG) have been awarded to 146 personnel, President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service to 74 personnel and Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 632 personnel.

The CRPF, the country’s largest paramilitary force, will receive the maximum 44 awards for bravery followed by Odisha Police at 26 medals, Jammu and Kashmir Police 25 medals and Chhattisgarh 14 medals.

Besides, the President of India has approved the conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards – 2018 on 48 persons which includes Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 08 (Posthumous) including Rakesh Chandra Behera from Odisha, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 15 and Jeevan Raksha Padak to 25 persons.
