Bhubaneswar: In a bid to facilitate issue of Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, the state transport department so far has authorised 618 Pollution Testing Units (PTU) in the state.
Transport department officials said that as many as 378 PTUs were added in the months of September and October.
Earlier the department has extended the off-line mode of PUC till December 31 after the department found inadequate numbers of pollution testing centres in the state.
“580 PTUs out of the 618 have been connected in online mode with the VAHAN server and around 10 lakh online PUC certificates have been issued in September and October,” said a transport official.
