30-ft breach in Rengali branch canal inundates acres of land in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A 30-feet long breach in the Rengali branch canal division at Santarapur under Kamakhyanagar block of Dhenkanal district has inundated acres of land on Wednesday morning.

Earlier on Tuesday also a 10-feet long also breached in the Rengali Left Bank Canal Division near Chandimandir in Dhalapda village and as a result acres of lands nearby were submerged.

The Rengali canal has damaged in various places in Kamakhyanagar sub-division. However, the locals alleged that the department officials have not yet taken any initiative for the solution.

The locals are in a state of panic as the water has entered the acres of land. It is being said that there might be a mass movement against this issue soon.
