Jajpur: In an unfortunate incident, a three-year-old boy died and his parents sustained minor injuries after a tree branch fell on them while they were returning home.
The incident took place near Jodikua Chhak under Jajpur police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Sunand Bindhani, only son of Rahul Bindhani.
Sources said, a family from Adia village in Agarpada of Bhadrak district along with their three-year-old son Sunand had gone to visit Maa Biraja temple in Jajpur district. While they were returning back in their bike, a branch of a tree fell on them near Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya and they got trapped beneath it.
The locals immediately rescued and admitted them to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Jajpur.
On reaching the hospital, the doctors declared the three year old son dead and the parents and his sibling are being treated for their minor injuries.
On being informed, the Jajpur police have reached the spot and started a probe into the matter.
