3 women Maoists killed during encounter in Chhattisgarh bordering Odisha’s Malkangiri

Dantewada/Malkangiri: As many as three women Maoists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district bordering Odisha’s Malkangiri on Monday, informed Dantewada Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Pallava. The deceased were identified as Raje Muchaki, Geeta Markam, and Jyoti Bhime Nuppo.

Reportedly, a gunfight took place in a forest between Adwal and Kunjeras villages under Katekalyan police station limits while a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on a search operation.

Thereafter an exchange of fire took place in which three women Maoists were encounter. The bodies of three women cadres were recovered from the spot by cops.

All of them were active members of Katekalyan Area Committee of Maoists and had reward of Rs 5 lakh each on their head, added reports.

The team of police have recovered one 12 bore gun, two country-made revolvers, one muzzle-loading gun, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), wires, medicines, Maoist literature, and items of daily use from the spot.
