Keonjhar: Stepping up action against drunk driving post implementation of the amended Motor Vehicle (MV) Act in the district, police took at least 3 truck drivers into custody from Khantaghara tollgate under Ghatagaon last night for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol (DUI).
The held drivers have been identified as Prakash Patra of Badamba area of Cuttack, Kamalakant Mohanta of Dalapaka of Keonjhar and Rudranarayan Mohanta of Aharpada of the same district.
As per the report, a team of Ghatagaon Police which was conducting a vehicle check at Khantaghara tollgate on NH-20 apprehended the accused driver trio on suspicion of DUI. They were taken into custody after the examination.
The held driver trio has been forwarded to court today.
