Koraput: Proving selfie mania to be dear, a youth slipped into Kolab river near Gupteswar shrine in Koraput district last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ritik Achari, a +3 student of Boipariguda Degree College.
Achari had gone on a trip to Gupteshwar temple along with some friends last evening when the mishap took place. He was trying to click a perfect selfie and in that effort went very close to the bank of Kolab river and accidentally slipped into the water.
While the victim was swept away by strong current in the river, his friends failed to save him despite efforts.
ODRAF and fire services personnel rushed to the subsequently and launched a search operation in the river.
Achari remain untraceable till last report came in.
